Home Remedies
“Home remedies,” or natural approaches to healthcare, should simply be coined “remedies,” or in a nutritionist’s terms, “relief.” These approaches to manage symptoms should be our first go-to when it comes to finding relief. We shouldn’t have to rely on conventional medicine if we don’t have to. If we can improve our symptoms with foods and herbs found in our kitchen cupboards, our bodies and minds will thank us for it. If you think about it…what did our parents, or our parents’ parents, or our parents’ parents’ parents use? You got it! Foods and herbs!
Yes, using non-conventional approaches requires patience, as these approaches take a little longer to help our bodies fight back. However, the patience is all worth it in the long term. We’ve only got one body and one mind so take care of it.
Next time you feel a little under the weather, try reaching for the turmeric or the fennel seeds and try to stay away from over-the-counter medicines.
You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
